My research interests are very much in the theory and practise of avian conservation translocations. This includes both the evolutionary impacts of translocation and the development of applied tools to improve translocation success. My involvement with the hihi lab is mostly of an applied nature, i.e. planning, managing and leading hihi translocations. This includes ongoing development and refinement of translocation protocols around health screening, captive husbandry, release and monitoring techniques along with research into translocation outcomes. I am also an active member of the New Zealand Department of Conservation Hihi Recovery Group.
